Pupils on their marks for Great School Run
More than 700 pupils donned gold and black and took part in a day of activities to celebrate sport.
Pupils from 22 primary and special schools in Wolverhampton took part in the Great School run at Aldersley Stadium.
They put on their running shoes to take part in a one-mile run, before enjoying a day of other sporting activities.
Youngsters aged from five to 11 got the chance to try their hand at sports ranging from frisbee, tri-golf, volleyball, tag rugby and net games.
And the League One trophy, won by Wolverhampton Wanderers, was also on show during the day for children to look at.
Children were asked to wear gold and black to celebrate the city.
The Great School Run was organised by Inspire, which is Wolverhampton's local education partnership, as well as Partnership and School Sports Wolverhampton (PASS).
Nick Shaffery, manager at PASS, said: "It was a brilliant event.
"Around 750 children took part in it and the activities were organised by around 200 secondary school leaders.
"The children loved it and all of them said how brilliant it had been. A lot of people commented on how good the leaders, who had come from the city's secondary schools, had been."
