Wolverhampton painter's £80k scratchcard win
A painter and decorator was celebrating twice this week after scooping two scratchcard wins – one of £80,000.
Chris Butterworth was looking forward to a good weekend after winning £100 on a National Lottery scratchcard.
But the 21-year-old from Wolverhampton could not believe his luck when he won £80,000 on his next one.
Mr Butterworth, who celebrated with girlfriend Ara at the Mount Hotel in Tettenhall today, had bought three tickets from Premier Supermarket on Clark Road, in Compton, on his way home from work on Friday.
The painter, who did not want to reveal where he lives or works, said: "I was happy with the £100, I thought that was my weekend paid for.
"I casually scratched the third one thinking I'd had my fill of luck and was in utter disbelief with what I saw. It's still sinking in."
He is currently having motorbike lessons and said the money will go towards a motorbike and a deposit on a house for the couple.
