Guest will be welcomed by a grand entrance lined by tall columns which will lead into a main foyer area following into a main hall with a stage and rows of tables.

The majority of the site will be taken up with the main hall and banqueting area which will be clad in sound and fire resistant materials to reduce disruption to neighbours and reduce the chance of fire.

Proposals have been lodged with Sandwell Council under the name AKS banqueting and conference suite.

The business will be run by Akkas Sheikh, who is managing director, operations manager Suban Uddin and Kobir Ahmed, financial controller.

A similar application submitted last year outlined the creation of a much larger venue that would hold up to 450 people but it was withdrawn.

Bosses say the venue would have five full time staff but will have a regular part time staff of 40 to 50 employees who will be called upon depending on events. late as 10.30pm on weekdays.

The plans also outline the creation of 54 new car parking spaces, 13 more than in the previous application, which will be monitored during events by car park attendants.
