Woman killed in three car Black Country smash is named

An elderly woman killed in a three car smash on a busy Black Country road has been named.

Mary Woodall, 83, died after the Kia Picanto she was travelling in was involved in a collision in Cradley Heath on May 21.

An inquest into the death of Mrs Woodall, from Rowley Regis, was opened at Smethwick Coroners Court yesterday. She died at the scene of the accident on Waterfall Lane.

The cause of death was recorded as fatal injuries sustained due to road traffic collision and the inquest was adjourned to a date to be confirmed.

Police are continuing to investigate the accident which happened just before noon.

Five people were injured in the accident.
