Man found dead in Cradley Heath burned out car is named
An inquest has been opened and adjourned into a man found dead in a burned out car in Cradley Heath.
Mark William Palmer, of no fixed address, was discovered by fire crews after they put out the blaze on May 10.
Smethwick Coroners Court was told yesterday that emergency services had been called to Lower High Street.
Coroner investigator Margaret Collins said once the flames had been put out firefighters became aware someone had been in the car.
The inquest was told Mr Palmer, 54, born in Dudley, had been identified via statements and photographs. Mrs Collins said Mr Palmer's family were satisfied it was him.
Assistant deputy Black Country coroner Angus Smillie said:
"I am satisfied this is the body of Mark William Palmer." He adjourned the inquest for further information to be gathered.
