Marathon pair making dreams come true after raising £12k
They are the people who make the dreams of children with serious illnesses come true.
But now after completing the London Marathon staff from Promise Dreams can touch the lives of more youngsters after raising more than £12,000 for the charity.
The money means Promise Dreams, which is based in Fordhouses in Wolverhampton, can provide more breaks as well as medical equipment for homes.
Suresh Bawa, from Wightwick, who is one of trustees of the charity and Aimee Johnson, who is a dream co-ordinator, ran the 26 mile route to raise cash for their cause.
And Wolves goalscoring legend Steve Bull, who is a patron of the charity, was on hand to support the pair.
Aimee said: "Me and Suresh had been training since October and we knew it was going to be a tough challenge. We know that people who are giving to charities have to dig deep so we wanted it to be a challenge which was worth people to support.
"Bully was supportive he text me and Suresh on the morning of the marathon and told us to take our time. So we did.
"This money is so important to the charity and it was worth all the pain to get it done."
The Promise Dreams pair completed the marathon in six-and-a-half hours.
Suresh added: "It was amazing and I'm so proud we did it. We were being supported all around the course and if you want to see the best of British spirit go to the London Marathon.
"Our target was £10,000 but getting to £12,000 is like having a 13 month year because it means we can fund children an extra month. We are grateful to the donations and it means another 10 to 12 children will have dreams come true."
