Award for social worker who helped children
A social worker who has helped hundreds of children has been recognised at an award ceremony at the Houses of Parliament.
Amanda Beaufoy was joined by her local MP Margot James to receive the children's social worker of the Year award.
The resident was awarded the accolade at the end of last year for her excellent work with children for Worcestershire County Council and was singled out by judges for her attention to detail and dedication to the children and families she worked with.
Speaking at the event, Mrs James, Mp for Stourbridge said: "It was a pleasure to meet Amanda and to be able to congratulate her in person for the outstanding work that she does with children in Worcestershire. Amanda clearly goes above and beyond when it comes to her job and cares a great deal for the children she helps, something which was clearly evident to the judges."
She added: "Raising awareness of the important job that social workers do is the aim of the Social Worker Awards, and I certainly wish them all the best for their continued efforts to bolster recognition for social workers across the country."
The awards are organized annually by Social Work Awards Ltd, a registered charity which aims to raise awareness of the importance of the profession. The parliamentary reception was an opportunity for Amanda and other recipients of prizes from the Social Work Awards to come together and celebrate their achievements.
