Tree crash driver escapes crash with just a cut finger

A man escaped with a just a cut to his finger after his car crashed into a tree near Kidderminster.

The smash happened around a mile from Shatterford, on the A442 Bridgnorth Road, at around 4.15pm yesterday.

The driver of the silver Kia Ceed was the only person in the car, which suffered damage to its front end as it collided with the tree.

Meanwhile, firefighters were called in to rescue a car that rolled down an embankment onto a railway line.

The silver Vauxhall Astra crashed through a fence and ended up on the tracks at Mill Street in Walsall.

It happened at 2pm yesterday but there was nobody in the car when police and fire crews attended. It took around 10 minutes to remove the car and services were halted during that time. Police are now investigating.
