Midlands motorists facing series of delays and diversions
Motorists will face a series of delays and diversions during weeks of roadworks on main routes across the West Midlands.
A range of lane closures will be in place this week and throughout May as work is carried out on motorways in the region.
The Highways Agency say the northbound carriageway entry slip road will be closed on the M5 at junction one, West Bromwich, from May 2 to 10. This is for signage works to take place between 8pm and 6am.
Carriageway works are being done on the M5 between junction two at Oldbury and three at Quinton on the southbound carriageway from Monday to May 8. A diversion route will be in place from 9.30pm to 6am.
The M5 northbound link to the M6 southbound at the Ray Hall interchange, West Bromwich, will be shut from Tuesday to Friday from 9.30pm to 5.30am for overhead gantry works.
The eastbound carriageway of the M54 junction from junction three Albrighton to junction two at Wolverhampton will be closed overnight from Wednesday to Friday.
Then westbound carriageway including the junction three entry slip road and junction four at Shifnal will be shut overnight from May 2 to 16 for carriageway works. In Staffordshire the southbound side will be closed between junction 12 at Cannock and 11 at Essington for overhead gantry works from Wednesday to May 18.
