Margot Martini supporters holding disco for Delete Blood Cancer charity
A charity disco inspired by little Margot Martini will be held in the West Midlands this summer.
Dance 4 Margot and Friends will take place at the Slade Rooms in Wolverhampton on June 21.
It is being held to raise funds and awareness of Delete Blood Cancer UK in a bid to help find donors for other children who need transplants.
Margot was diagnosed with a rare form of leukaemia aged just 14 months, sparking a heartfelt plea by her family to find a suitable donor.
In February a match was found and Margot underwent an operation at London's Great Ormond Street Hospital. She is currently at home with her family following a successful bone marrow transplant. Just last week, she left hospital to recuperate with her father Yaser, mother Vicki, originally from Essington, and brothers Oscar and Rufus.
The family now lives near Roehampton in London and has kept supporters updated on Margot's progress through a Facebook page called Team Margot. The most recent pictures posted by her parents showed the youngster playing with her brothers.
The family has pledged to continue to raise awareness and funds to help other families in the same situation. Dance 4 Margot and Friends is being organised by Team Margot – made up of family and friends of the little girl. It will take place from 7pm to 12am at the venue in Broad Street. Tickets cost £7 and include a free Team Margot wrist band.
The event will feature a charity disco, sweet buffet, photo booth and charity raffle.
Margot's story captured the hearts of people worldwide, with more than 50,000 registering to see if they could be a suitable match for Margot.
But her family says there are other families still waiting for a donor.
People who attend the event will be able to register with Delete Blood Cancer UK to sign up as possible donors.
