Crash injures two and closes busy Wolverhampton road
Two men were injured after a serious three-car crash on a busy Wolverhampton road today.
Goldthorn Hill was still closed during rush hour this morning after the smash at 3.30am.
The drivers of a Vauxhall Corsa and a Subaru Impreza had to be cut free by fire crews after colliding head-on.
They suffered chest and legs injuries and were both taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, while the occupants of a third car, a Toyota Corolla, were uninjured.
The road was closed between Fighting Cocks and Ednam Road and police have issued an appeal for witnesses.
Inspector Sallie Churchill, from Wolverhampton Police, said: "This was a serious collision which has left two men with very serious injuries.
"We urge any witnesses to contact us with information, if they are yet to do so, whilst urging people to avoid the area if at all possible whilst collision investigators continue to work at the scene."
Anyone with information should call the Collision Investigation Unit by dialling 101.
