Woman arrested after car overturns on busy route

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after the car she was driving overturned along a busy route in Walsall, shown in this Twitter picture.

The accident happened in Lichfield Road, Rushall, Walsall at around 10.25pm last night.

Officers arrested the 34-year-old at the scene and she remains in police custody today.

The woman was treated at the scene by paramedics but was not taken to hospital. Police closed off part of Lichfield Road.

Meanwhile a motorcyclist had to be treated in hospital after he collided with a stationary car on the Black Country Route.

Officers had been called to help with the recovery of a vehicle on the road at 11am on Saturday when they got a more urgent call reporting that a motorcycle had hit the vehicle.
