Wedding fair finds favour as brides-to-be plan for big day
Brides-to-be, their partners, families and friends attended Wolverhampton Magazine's wedding fair in their hundreds as exhibitors praised organisers for a well-run show.
Sunday's event at The Mount Hotel in Tettenhall Wood was even bigger this year with more wedding specialists chatting to guests about what they had to offer.
Exhibitor James Bednall of Duncan James Menswear said: "It was really busy."
Margot Crichton of Photographs by Margot said they had had plenty of interest from couples planning their big day, adding: "We like coming to this show at The Mount Hotel. It is well organised."
Sally Mansell's The Fashion Show Company organised two stunning catwalk shows in the Great Hall which were compered by Nina Blakemore, a regular model on Gok Wan's How to Look Good Naked.
Wolverhampton Magazine editor, Karen Knowles said: "The fashion shows are always a highlight of the fair. It was a nice quirky touch when the show kicked off with some of the female models wearing menswear. Of course the wedding gowns were stunning and the child models got plenty of oohs and aahs all round."
A prize draw raised money for Compton Hospice with the top prize being an overnight stay in an executive room at The Mount Hotel. Other prizes included tickets to The Grand Theatre, home accessories courtesy of Cousins Furniture, which sponsored the show, and a makeover with Ashley Gamble who has just launched a salon in Shifnal with partner Stephanie Passmore. Ashley and his team styled the hair for the catwalk shows.
General Manager of MNA Magazines Tom Graham said: "We are delighted to see so many exhibitors back again this year but equally delighted to see so many new faces. The presentation of the stalls and the range of exhibitors this year is the best we've seen yet. I'd like to thank all our supporters."
