Sudden death of young star, 21, shocks Kidderminster rugby team

A talented rugby player has died suddenly at the age of 21.

Kidderminster Carolians winger David Waldron is believed to have died at the University of Plymouth, where he was a student.

The circumstances of the his death are still unknown. His club today spoke of their shock and sadness as they paid tribute to him.

David had been part of the club, which plays at its ground in Marlpool Lane, Kidderminster, for around 10 years. He was a member of the club's second team.

In a statement today, club chairman Keith Skirving said: "Kidderminster Carolian's family express their shock and sadness at the sudden passing of a young and talented player."

He said the club's thoughts were with David's parents and family. The club's players held a minute's silence at training on Tuesday night this week.

David's family, who live in Kidderminster, were too upset to speak about his death.
