More than 200 cannabis plants seized in Tipton
A report of a burglary in has led police officers to the discovery of more than 200 cannabis plants.
The drug was discovered at a house on Victoria Road, Tipton, following a report of a burglary there at around 1am today.
Police are now hoping to discover who owns the house.
West Midlands Police spokesman Billy Corrigan said: "Just after 1am police received a 999 call from a member of the public reporting a burglary in progress.
"Officers were immediately dispatched but when they arrived just minutes the later offenders had fled the scene.
"Once inside the building around 200 cannabis plants was discovered.
"Forensic scene investigators have visited the house on Victoria Road and enquiries continue."
Officers on Twitter posted a picture of Sergeant Dave Rogers from the Tipton Neighbourhood police team with some of the seized haul as did the police's cannabis team.
