Fancy living like a rock star? Snap up Tony Iommi's £3 million mansion
Fancy living like a rock star? Well now you can.
For the princely sum of £3 million you can live like one of the Midlands' greatest rockstars – Tony Iommi.
The legendary Black Sabbath guitarist is selling his luxury Edwardian mansion in the quaint village of Lapworth, Warwickshire, after signalling his intentions to downsize after being diagnosed with cancer in 2012.
Birmingham-born Iommi is a founding member of the heavy metal group and its sole continual member through multiple personnel changes.
The house, which is named Netherwood, has an annexe complete with a purpose-built recording studio and home cinema, perfect for any self-respecting rock star.
It is also equipped with a kitchen, bathroom and en-suite.
The house, which is being sold by John Shepherd estate agents, has original features including stained glass, light panels and fireplaces which will now be around 100 years old. There is also six-acres of gardens and grounds.
The main house, which was built in 1905, also has a 'sophisticated sound and music system' and a 'comprehensive CCTV and security system'.
Pictures on the estate agents' website show the houses walls are adorned with mementos of the rockstars life, including gold discs and framed photos.
You can also have a virtual tour of an orangery which is at the back of the property. And with a full-size snooker table in one room and a baby grand piano in another, there are plenty of things to do when refraining from living the rockstar lifestyle.
The guitarist famously lost the tips of two fingers working in a sheet metal factory as a teenager but learned to play with thimble-like devices to extend them.
Since forming the band in 1968, he has spawned thousands of guitar players who mimic his style, and is one of the most influential guitarists of all time.
