Refund plan for hospital parking in Sandwell
Patients could be in line for a refund on their parking at hospitals in Sandwell if their treatment gets delayed.
Health chiefs revealed the plan as they approved increased parking fees at Sandwell, City and Rowley Regis hospitals from April.
The visitor tariff for every band of charges at Sandwell and City hospital sites will increase by 10p. Visitors who stay for up to six hours at Rowley Regis Hospital will also see fees jump from £2 to £2.50.
The fees for up to 24 hours will stay at £5 at the Moor Street facility. The trust's chief executive Toby Lewis stressed the increased charges still sat 'at the mid point of Birmingham and Black Country hospital trusts'.
Mr Lewis added: "We will be working up those plans(on refunds) before coming back to the board in April. We will continue to examine what it would cost us to offer cheaper parking."
