Man rescued from Great Bridge canal

Firefighters were sent out to rescue a man from a canal today.

Crews from Tipton and Cradley Heath were sent to the scene near Market Place, Great Bridge. A passer-by had reported that a man was stranded on the side of a brook around 10.20am.

Firefighters managed to pull the man out, cold but unhurt, and he was seen by paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service at the scene.

The exact circumstances of how the man fell into the canal were not yet clear.
