Serving prisoner Neino Scarrett was one of nine men jailed for a combined 45 years for robbing Polish Bogdan Bartczak, before he died of a suspected heart attack.

The 57-year-old victim's body was dragged onto park land off Vale Road, Dudley, after he collapsed when his lorry was being ransacked of 227 flat screen TVs in 2010.

Sandwell Magistrates Court heard Scarrett was let out on a temporary license from HMP Thorn Cross near Warrington on Tuesday, but just a day later he was arrested after forcing his way into two homes in West Road, Tipton, and assaulting two women.

The 25-year-old pleaded guilty to two charges of assault and one count of criminal damage.

Prosecuting, Mr Mark Cooper, told the court the first woman Scarrett assaulted, Clarice Harper, had been at home with her husband watching TV in the living room, when she heard frantic knocking at the front door at around 10pm.

Scarrett who last lived at New Road, Dudley, had been serving a seven-year sentence for being involved in the 2010 lorry ambush.

He was recalled on his licence and given an additional 12 weeks for the first assault, to be served consecutively with his original sentence. He was also given another 12- week prison sentence to be served concurrently for the second assault, as well as a further two weeks for the criminal damage.
