Albert has key to a long life at 100

He comes from a family of musicians and regularly performed as a church organist. And turning 100 isn't going to stop Bert Hazell tinkling the ivories.

Talented pianist Albert Hazell, known as Bert, proved he hasn't lost his touch when he got behind the keys at his 100th birthday party.

His family joined in with a sing-song at his surprise bash at the Sunrise Senior Living of Tettenhall care home.

And there was an extra treat when Mr Hazell's old choir dropped in to belt out 'For he's a Jolly Good Fellow'.

Rachel Smith, general manager at the care home, said: "He was really, really pleased. He had a lot of family here and they're all pianists."

Mr Hazell played the organ at St Columba's Church in Castlecroft. Nowadays he still plays piano at the Wergs Road care home every day after tea.
