Speaking on Piers Morgan's Life Stories, the Stafford-born actor said the circumstances surrounding his older brother Stephen's death were 'heinous'.
Stephen died, aged 37, when Morrissey was at the height of his sitcom success.
His decomposed body was found in a tower block in the city. Speaking on the programme, 51-year-old Morrissey said: "Steve was actually doing OK and no-one even knows why he died.
"They'd taken everything out of the flat and burnt it all so there was no personal effects left either."
