Midland woman jailed for raid on ex-partner's family home
A woman who carried out a £1,600 burglary at the family home of a former boyfriend has been jailed for 15 months.
Joanne Mulholland, aged 25, broke into the house in Penfields Road, Stourbridge, with 19-year-old Andrew Carr on August 22, Wolverhampton Crown Court heard.
The couple, who both had a string of previous convictions, were seen by a neighbour putting a mini scrambler bike in to a taxi, prosecutor Mr Kevin Jones said.
The owner, who had allowed Mulholland to live at the house while she was going out with his son, later returned home to find the family's Suzuki machine had been stolen along with jewellery, a TV and a lap top, continued the lawyer.
None of the items have been recovered.
Carr was on bail at the time after breaking in to another house and stealing a £250 TV. Miss Samantha Powis, defending said Mulholland wanted money to buy food. Mulholland, of William Street, Brierley Hill, who admitted the Penfields Road burglary, was sent to prison for one year, three months.
Carr, who pleaded guilty to both break-ins, was sentenced to 26 months in a Young Offenders Institution.
