Firefighters were called to the blaze on the patch of land behind Asda on Wednesbury Oak Road at midnight last night.

The Rover 100 Series car was completely engulfed in flame, and by the time the fire was out, even the paint had been stripped from the car.

Tipton station watch commander Keith Hampton said: "The car was presumed stolen, and was 100 per cent destroyed by fire.

"It is unfortunately a place where people do dump cars and set them on fire."

West Midlands Police confirmed they are investigating the incident and are treating the fire as arson.
