Firefighters were called to Clarence Road, in Bilston, to reports of a fire in the ground floor of a terraced house.

Crews from Willenhall and Bilston both attended and used thermal imagery cameras to scour the building.

Nobody was injured and all people were accounted for, while the cats were removed by firefighters.

An investigation has been taking place to find out what sparked the blaze at around 4.30pm yesterday.

The house suffered around 30 per cent damage from fire and 50 per cent damage from smoke.

Neighbouring properties were also damaged by smoke.
