Katy Homer, from Clent View Road, Colley Gate, near Halesowen, is charged with two offences, one of drink driving and one of dangerous driving.

It is alleged she drove the wrong way on the motorway at junction one, in West Bromwich, on December 4, and that she was double the legal limit. She is charged with having 79 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

The legal alcohol limit for drivers in the UK is 35 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.

She appeared at Sandwell Magistrates Court this morning but entered no plea to either offence.

Wearing a leather jacket and black leggings, Homer spoke only to confirm her name and address.

Magistrates declined jurisdiction in the case and she was released on unconditional bail to appear for a plea and case management hearing at Wolverhampton Crown Court on April 3.
