Teenage horse riders collect for cancer charities
Motorists and pedestrians were treated to a surprise sight when two dedicated teenage horse riders paraded through a town in fancy dress to raise money for charity.
And even their horses were involved in the festive dressing up fundraiser.
Jade Gilbride, aged 14, and her friend Beth Robson decided that they would raise money for cancer charities, by riding through the town of Sedgley all dressed up in colourful hooded onesies.
Jade decided to dress as a Christmas tree, while 17-year-old Beth turned into a tiger for the fundraising ride.
And their horses were also decorated in tinsel to finish off the festive look.
Beth said: "We have done a couple of things for charity in the past and felt we wanted to do something different to raise money for Cancer Research."
They set off from their stables in Western Avenue and rode around the roads for an hour and a half at the weekend. "We had a lot of people take pictures of us and a few of them laughed at us, but we also had people add donations to our appeal," added the teenager from Northway, Sedgley.
"We are both really pleased with how the day went." The girls have already raised a couple of hundred pounds but have said this is only the beginning of their fundraising mission.
They hope to make the rides on horses Skye and Norman a regular event and are planning the next one after Christmas.
