Fire chiefs praise fall in worst house blazes in Staffordshire
The number of fires at homes in Staffordshire in which people have been injured has dropped by 11 per cent over the last year as the fire service steps up a safety campaign, new figures reveal.

Chiefs have hailed the statistics as proof that people are taking more care.
The number of fires involving property and casualties from July to September was 372, down 46 on the same period last year.
There were three injuries and two deaths in accidental house fires in the same period, compared to seven injuries and one death the year before.
This included a fire that claimed the lives of Peter and Beryl Goffe at their Stone home.
