Goldie-fish joins stars in call to protect sea life

People know him as Goldie – but after this picture he may soon be known as Goldie-fish.

The Walsall-born musician, actor and artist is one of a clutch of stars to pose naked with fish to highlight how stocks are are falling in open water.

It has led to a call for a ban on deep sea fishing, which activitists claim is leaving some species on the brink of extinction. Goldie, who grew up in the Heath Town area of Wolverhampton, uses the fish to protect his modesty as he stares into the camera.

The 48-year-old was joined by X Files actress Gillian Anderson, fashion designer Kenzo Takada and French-Portugeuse actress Barbara Cabrita, who also stripped off and posed with various species of fish for the Fishlove campaign.

It aims to raise awareness of the unsustainable fishing practices affecting marine life.
