Model enthusiasts steam into NEC for railway exhibition
Model railway fans steamed into the NEC for the annual Warley National Model Railway Exhibition.
The 46th annual show was held at the weekend, with this year's event marking the 21st year at the venue.
Ex-Pop Idol judge and model rail fan Pete Waterman, a regular visitor to the show, was also in attendance,
He said: "He said: "This is my 40th Warley show. The first one I did was in the 70s and I've missed one. I love coming back because it brings me back to the Midlands – it's a weekend I can spend where my accent goes back to being a Brummie."
Meanwhile, teenager David Miles was the first recipient of the Michael Heaven Award, in memory of train enthusiast Michael Heaven who passed away in August aged 66.
Bristnall Hall Academy sixth form student David, 17, from Farm Road, Smethwick said: "I've been in the club since I was about six. I love the detail."
Warley Model Railway Club spokesman David Moorhouse, said: "We have seen really big crowds. This hobby is getting more and more popular."
