Louise Evans, aged 32, died after being thrown down the stairs and smothered by her cheating husband Alan, aged 35, at their home in Kidderminster.

This month, Evans is starting a life sentence with a minimum 17 years in prison after being convicted of murder by a jury following a five-week trial at Worcester Crown Court.

Left behind following the murder are the couple's three children, who are now being looked after by Louise's parents Derek and Judith Bollen in Kidderminster.

This Saturday, more than 200 people will attend a gala night at Kidderminster Harriers Social Club to raise money for the children.

Louise's old school friends, family and colleagues are all invited to the event, which starts at 7.30pm. Mrs Evans attended Franche First School and then Wolverley High School before training at Wolverhampton College of Nursing.

She was working as a carer at a home for the elderly at Kinlet, near Bewdley, up until her death.

She was close to her family and still had many friends in Kidderminster from her school days.
