Seven men have become the first to plead guilty under Operation Wolverhampton No Deal launched on September 24 involving hundreds of officers. They appeared before Birmingham Crown Court yesterday.

Dwayne Jackson, aged 28, of Aston Lane, Claverley, who was thought to be ring leader pleaded guilty to conspiring to supply heroin and crack cocaine between October 29, 2012, and September 24, 2013, at court yesterday. He was so influential in the gang that police called the investigation 'D' Line as he was known on the streets as 'D'. Miss Jennifer Josephs, prosecuting, told the court that Jackson's role in the drug dealing operation would be a matter for the sentencing judge to consider, but she said: "The police have placed him at the top of the conspiracy. He had spent a large amount of money."

Scott Reed, aged 26, of Stowheath Lane, East Park, Shane Dhanda, aged 22, of Aston Road, Willenhall, Adam Spencer, aged 28 of Long Knowle Lane, Wednesfield, Lee Dwight, aged 32, of Ellerton Walk, Park Village, Antonio Gambone, aged 28, of Myrtle Street, Park Fields and Adam Walker, aged 26, of Hampton View, Heath Town all pleaded guilty to conspiring to supply heroin and crack cocaine between October 29 2012 and September 24 2013 at court yesterday. They were all remanded into custody, to be sentenced after the trial of their co-accused.

Amy Allen, aged 24, of Darwin Close, Heath Hayes, and Michael O'Keefe, aged 29, who are also facing charges of conspiring to supply Class A drugs did not enter a plea. They will next be in court with Alan Brough, 29, of no fixed address, who also faces these charges.

Two men who were part of a separate drugs racket but were also charged following arrests made during the No Deal operation appeared at court. Nathanial Huthwaite, aged 21, of York Street, All Saints, pleaded guilty to supplying the Class A drug cocaine and conspiring to supply cannabis between October 17 2012 and October 3 2013. His co-defendant a 17 year old pleaded guilty to conspiring to supply cannabis and possession of cannabis.

They are both due to be sentenced on the week beginning January 20.
