Ch Insp Carl Ratcliffe revealed officers were studying images after making three arrests in connection with the scenes at Keys Park at the weekend. He warned fans who invade the pitch or bring flares to the club's ground will be banned.

Mr Ratcliffe said: "A large number of people attended Saturday's game and the vast majority were well behaved. We are working with the club to make sure this sort of thing is not repeated. If you go on the pitch or take a firework or flare you will be arrested and we will apply for football banning orders if we can gather evidence."

Conference North Hednesford were eliminated from the cup after losing 2-1 to League One Crawley Town.

A 46-year-old man from Wimblebury, Cannock, was cautioned by police after he is said to have entered the football pitch on Saturday during the first round game.

A 23-year-old man from Mill Crescent, Cannock, has been arrested and bailed for allegedly throwing a missile onto the pitch during the defeat.

A 17-year-old was also arrested and bailed for possession of a firework or flare.

Ch Insp Ratcliffe said CCTV footage of the game was now being reviewed.
