Star witness: Heron bites off more than it can chew

This heron looked like it had bitten off more than it could chew when it was snapped with a fish in its mouth.

An eagle-eyed snapper was on hand to catch the moment as the bird sprang to grab its prey.

The action was captured at Wildside Activity Centre in Wolverhampton by Ian Fardoe.

Wildside Activity Centre is in Hordern Road, Whitmore Reans, and is a 'green oasis' which attracts a vast array of wildlife.

Mr Fardoe even uploaded a video of the heron on to the centre's Facebook page.

He tweeted: "This heron was outside Wildside Activity Centre on November 6, it had bitten off quite a bit more than it could chew!
