Laura Louise Pincher was taken to Dudley's Russells Hall Hospital where she died on October 28 this year, Smethwick Coroners Court heard yesterday.

Assistant coroner for the Black Country Mr Angus Smillie adjourned the full inquest until a later date.

The hearing was told that a post mortem had been carried out on Miss Pincher, 18, of Hadcroft Grange, Stourbridge, following her death.

The medical cause of death was given as a bilateral pulmonary embolism along with deep vein thrombosis.

Mr Smillie heard that while these were natural causes, Miss Pincher's family had asked for an inquest take place due to concerns regarding previous admissions to hospital.

The hearing is expected to take place on February 4 next year.
