Bosses at the store in Lichfield Road, Cannock – which opened in 2011 – want to extend its opening hours.

But residents who live nearby object to the proposals, saying the extended hours will lead to an increase in noise during the early hours.

Under the plans, the supermarket would be open continuously from midnight on Monday until 10pm on Saturday and an extra hour on Sundays.

It is currently open from 8am to 8pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
