A convoy of caravans have stopped on land off Silver Court Gardens, in Brownhills, as Walsall continues to be plagued by the problem. It is believed this site is not owned by Walsall Council.

Brownhills councillor David Turner said there have been problems in Brownhills in the past due to its accessible location off Watling Street and Chester Road.

"The concerns are about the mess that is left, they don't clean up after themselves," he said. "There is the intimidation factor as well. It is an issue in Brownhills, Pelsall and a lot of other areas in Walsall."

Wooden bollards were installed at Holland Park, in Chester Road North, Brownhills, to try and tackle the problem.

The town has become a hotbed for travellers, with the problem escalating over the last few months. The authority has been forced to go to court orders to move them on, only for them to relocate to other sites.
