Thousands more wheelie bins to be sent out across Dudley

Thousands more homes across Dudley will be receiving wheelie bins for household rubbish from next month.

A total 40,000 households will receive the bins when the £2.5million project by Dudley Council is complete.

It started on July 1 and from next month, the council will continue its roll-out with the second phase of homes to be included.

Residents will also receive two bags for paper, card, plastic bottles and cans as part of the expansion of recycling services.

Homes in Dudley, Halesowen and Brierley Hill are among the homes to be included in the second phase.

Residents in Quarry Bank, Netherton, Coseley, Kingswinford were among those who received the first batch of bins.

Councillor Tracy Wood, cabinet member for environment and culture, said: "We are making really good progress with rolling out this new service."
