Mark Rhodes and Heather Small star at Steve Bull fundraiser
M People star Heather Small took to the stage to serenade guests at a glitzy bash raising funds for Wolves legend Steve Bull's charity foundation.
Guests donned stylish gowns and sharp suits for the Black Tie and Diamond Ball, which was hosted by Darlaston-born television and radio presenter Mark Rhodes. Hundreds attended the event thrown by former striker Bully in the posh surroundings of Birmingham's International Convention Centre.
The highlight of the night was a turn by the diminutive singer who sprang onto stage in a sleek black dress to bring the guests to the dancefloor.
She rolled through her well-known hits such as Proud before treating the delighted audience with a rousing finale to her 30-minute set with M People favourite Moving on Up.
The show on Friday proved a great warm up before flying out to Dublin to start M People's 20th anniversary tour on Saturday. The tour arrives at Wolverhampton's Civic Hall on October 19.
"I'm always a bit nervous and it has been eight years since we have toured properly but rehearsals have gone really well and I can't wait," she said.
"It was a really wonderful audience here tonight and I just love it when they get up to dance, it's still a thrill for me." The night marked the third year since the Steve Bull Foundation was established and the famous footballer said he was delighted by the turnout.
"It's great that the different companies and everyone comes out to support us because they know that the money raised goes to good causes," he said.
"It is our third year and we've almost become like a family now which is great. Everyone knows how lucky they are and that's why they come out to help raise money for those who need it."
