Garry Foster was last seen at 3pm on Sunday when he left his home on the Priory estate in Dudley.

Mr Foster, aged 53, is a registered firearm keeper and it is believed he may have one in his possession.

Police said they were searching countryside to the west of Wolverhampton, towards Bridgnorth and Kidderminster. It is thought these are places he would often frequent. Officers have carried out door-to-door inquiries.

He is believed to be using a Mitsubishi Pajero car which is blue or silver. The vehicle carries the registration plate L216 PTO

Supt Andy Parsons, of Dudley Police, said: "He didn't take any money or personal possessions with him, however he may well have a registered firearm on his person."
