Almost 300 pupils have had their return delayed as building work at Brandhall Primary School during the holidays over-ran by a fortnight leaving parents furious.

Pupils in reception and Year 6 started as usual on September 9, however, pupils in Year 1 to Year 5 – a total of 280 – were unable to return.

The school today confirmed that the school will reopen fully to all year groups on September 23.
