Stourbridge shopping centre to get refreshed
A shopping centre will be given a facelift including a new logo, revamped signs and refurbished units, bosses announced today.
Stourbridge's Ryemarket will benefit from the work, which comes as a major regeneration project in the town centre moves closer to completion.
Managers today said they wanted to 're-brand and refresh' the centre to complement the redevelopment work taking place.
The Crown Centre scheme will include a Tesco supermarket and shop units. It is due to be completed by Christmas.
A planning application for work at the Ryemarket shopping centre has now been lodged with Dudley Council.
The work includes installing new banner signs at the High Street and Market Street entrances and a totem pole with retailers' names on, which will stand in Fountain Square.
It is expected to start in the next couple of weeks and is expected to be completed by the end of the month.
Bosses said most of the work will take place 'out of hours' to keep any disruption to a minimum. A new modern logo has also been designed for the signs.
Centre manager Kelley Dyas said: "It's an exciting time for Stourbridge and with so much positive investment happening throughout the town, we felt that now is the right time to update The Ryemarket brand."
