Tributes to victim in Walsall bus crash tragedy
Tributes have poured in for a man who was tragically killed when his car collided head-on with a bus in Walsall.
Majid Hussain was declared dead at the scene after the crash between his Honda Jazz and the X51 bus in Birmingham Road.
An inquest into the death of the 34 year-old from Chuckery was being opened at Walsall Coroner's Court today.
Scores of people have left tributes to Mr Hussain on Facebook, wishing his family strength and 'sabr' – or patience.
Others said they hoped Mr Hussain was in 'jannah' – paradise – 'in the blessed month of Ramadan'.
"What a terrible thing to happen to Majid," Jennie Edge wrote.
She described him as 'one of the nicest guys I have ever met'.
Altaf Khan said: "R.I.P Majid, may Allah give your family sabr during this difficult period.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this holy month of Ramadan." Mr Hussain was pronounced dead at the scene following the crash on Monday night.
The nearby County Hotel became a refuge for 17 bus passengers who were treated by ambulance staff after the collision at about 6.05pm on Monday. A total of 25 people were seen by paramedics.
Passengers were ushered to safety while the car driver was pulled from the wreckage by residents.
Meanwhile National Express, which owns the bus involved in the collision, said today it would be willing to work with the authorities to assist where necessary.
Spokeswoman Nicola Houghton said: "Our sympathies are with the family of the individual who lost their life."
