West Midland Safari Park will extend its hours
Longer summer opening hours will get under way at West Midland Safari Park on August 1.
Last admission into the park will extended by two hours to 7pm during the month-long summer nights season
Gates to the four-mile self-drive safari will close at the same time.
Visitors will be able to enjoy an evening sea lion show at 7pm and the discovery trail exhibits will remain open until 9pm, along with the amusement rides.
The safari park's deputy director of wildlife Angela Potter said: "I have often been asked why the animal reserves close at 7pm during summer nights and not 9pm.
"It's because the animal keepers need to get some of the animals safely into their night quarters and to prepare evening meals for them, before it gets too dark." Standard admission charges apply throughout the season.
