Patients delayed as storm drain bursts in Stourbridge

Appointments were postponed after a storm drain burst, flooding the Corbett Hospital Outpatient Centre in Stourbridge with water.

Firefighters were called to clear the water and help save valuable equipment while parts of the building were evacuated at about 9.30am yesterday.

Staff were also forced to close some outpatient services .

Crew Commander Dominic Rose said: "A storm drain had burst and water had come through a manhole in the hospital and flooded the corridors."

"We had huge help from the NHS staff who worked really hard."

The hospital confirmed services were back to normal today.
