Two seriously injured in Kidderminster crash

A man and woman in their 80s were seriously injured in a road smash in Kidderminster this afternoon.

A car and 4x4 vehicle were involved in the crash which happened in Habberley Lane, Franche, just after 3.45pm.

The car driver, a man in his 80s, suffered back, neck and internal injuries. He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

The female car passenger, also in her 80s, was taken to the same hospital, suffering serious chest, neck and arm injuries.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "The hospital was alerted to the serious condition of both patients."

The driver of the 4×4 was assessed at the scene before being released.
