Armed police called after firearm claim in Featherstone
Armed police were called to a village in South Staffordshire following calls that a motorist had been spotted with a firearm.

Officers with guns and a police helicopter were called to the A460 Cannock Road at Featherstone at 7.30pm yesterday.
Staffordshire Police say with the help of the helicopter they were able to locate a car and the 36-year-old driver was arrested. He remains in custody today.
Officers were today hunting for a weapon. Inspector Donna Gibbs, commander for South Staffordshire Local Policing Team, said: "I would like to reassure residents that while we treat reports of this nature seriously they are fortunately very rare in South Staffordshire."
