Officers with guns and a police helicopter were called to the A460 Cannock Road at Featherstone at 7.30pm yesterday.

Staffordshire Police say with the help of the helicopter they were able to locate a car and the 36-year-old driver was arrested. He remains in custody today.

Officers were today hunting for a weapon. Inspector Donna Gibbs, commander for South Staffordshire Local Policing Team, said: "I would like to reassure residents that while we treat reports of this nature seriously they are fortunately very rare in South Staffordshire."
