Georgia's friends decked out the route of her funeral cortege with ribbons in her favourite colours of turquoise and blue ahead of the funeral service at All Saints' Church in Wellington yesterday afternoon.
Hundreds of air cadets marched to the church from their headquarters in King Street under police escort. Pupils from Ercall Wood Technology College, where Georgia was head girl, also joined mourners including Georgia's mother Lynnette, father Stephen, and older sister Scarlett.
In accordance with her family's wishes, most of the mourners wore bright colours in a celebration of her life.
The body of 17-year-old Georgia, from Telford, was found in North Wales two weeks ago, after she went missing sparking a nationwide search.
The service was relayed by loudspeakers to hundreds of mourners who stood outside once the church had reached its 450 capacity. Ercall Wood headteacher Chay Davies paid his own tribute to the teenager, who he had described as a "shining star".
Jamie Reynolds, 22, of Avondale Road, Wellington, is charged with her murder.
