Robert Rowe was last seen at around 3.30pm on Wednesday afternoon when he returned to his Darlaston home from his work.

The 54-year-old gardener had a brief conversation with his family before heading back out.

Since leaving, he has failed to make contact with his family or friends who are very concerned for his welfare.

Inspector Colin Mattinson, from Walsall Police, said: "We understand that this is unusual behaviour for Mr Rowe and his family are very worried about him.

"We are carrying out various enquiries in the local area and we believe that Mr Rowe may well have headed to the Penkridge or Telford areas.

"We urge people to keep an eye out for him, or for Robert himself, to contact us so that we can confirm that he is safe and well."

He is described as a white man, 6ft 2in tall, of stocky build, with short brown hair, blue eyes, he wears glasses and has a Midland accent. He was last seen wearing green combat trousers, a beige fleece jumper, blue rain jacket, and trainers with paint and plaster marks on them.

Anyone with information relating to Mr Rowe's whereabouts is urged to contact Walsall Police by dialling 101 or speak to the national charity, Missing People, by calling 116 000.
