Flowers are left at Sedgley woods for tragic Frankie Warren
Floral tributes have been laid in memory of a woman whose body was found in woodland in Sedgley after she vanished from home 50 miles away.
Residents living nearby joined friends of Frankie Warren to leave tributes at the entrance to woods at Sedgley Hall Park where she was found.
The office worker, aged 26, disappeared from her home, in Thornbury, South Gloucestershire, on Wednesday. Officers searched the woodland before discovering a body on Friday.
Friends and family arrived in Sedgley to give out posters to residents in a bid to find her during the search. Friends travelled to the Black Country yesterday to leave flowers off Hickmerelands Lane close to where her body was discovered.
They have also paid tribute to Sedgley residents living nearby for their kind words and support when the police search was at its height.
Messages have been left on the internet social network Facebook thanking wellwishers including Maxine Cotton, mother of Frankie's boyfriend Sam, who wrote: "Can I just say a big big thank you to everyone who turned up to help with the search for Frankie, friends colleagues even complete strangers all worked together in their efforts to find her. "
One floral tribute stated: "A tragic loss of a beautiful girl. Rest in Peace Frankie. Sedgley Residents."
Sedgley councillor and former mayor, Michael Evans, today said the town's thoughts remain with Miss Warren's family and friends.
"My condolences have to go to her family and friends," he said. "It was a sad. But I've always said that Sedgley is a special place and people always come together to show their support."
