First picture of bride-to-be mowed down in Wolverhampton as she collected wedding dress

This is the first picture of the bride-to-be who was seriously injured along with her brother when they were hit by a car hours before her wedding.

Teacher Katie Clark, aged 29, and her brother Tim, 32, had just loaded her wedding dress into the boot of his car when a vehicle drove into the back of them as they stood behind his vehicle on a busy road in Wolverhampton.

Miss Clark, of Penn Fields, was airlifted to Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where she underwent surgery. Her brother's leg was completely broken and he was taken to Wolverhampton's New Cross Hospital for surgery.

Police are investigating the accident, on Stubbs Road in Penn Fields at around 11.40am last Thursday. Today, the Clarks spoke for the first time of their nightmare.

Mr Clark said: "We have escaped with our lives."
